Fifty-five years ago, the first Earth Day was held. It raised environmental awareness around the world and brought people together everywhere in a new fight to protect Mother Earth. In May 2015, Pope Francis signed a call to action for all Catholics - the encyclical Laudato Si’ - to consider our relationship with the Earth, not only to see it as a resource to use, but as a common home to care for. In the spirit of both of these two great events, St. Stephen’s is hosting its 11th “New-To-You” rummage sale.
The main goals behind our rummage sale:
To build community and friendship within our unique “three churches” in one parish while working together towards a common goal.
To work towards the care of our “common home”- Earth- as Pope Francis encouraged in his encyclical on ecology and care for God’s creation, by helping our neighbors recycle, repurpose and reuse items that may have ended up in the land-fill.
To provide a welcoming and peaceful venue for our greater St. Louis community friends and neighbors to come and acquire good items (looking for a new home) at a reasonable price.
Sale date - Sept. 20th and 21st.
We have concluded our drop off dates for this year's sale. Thank you to all those who contributed!
