Dear SSP families, teachers, and parishioners, As I am writing this on Thursday evening, I want to let you know that I will not be at school on Friday. I’ll be undergoing a series of tests in hopes of finding relief from some persistent aches and pains. Thank you for your understanding and prayers. Earlier this week, we welcomed a professional film crew to SSP to highlight our school for the Archdiocesan Catholic Appeal (ACA). This follows last week’s spotlight by the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation (TTEF). Both groups were genuinely impressed by the vibrant life and learning happening at SSP. We are proud to be recognized and grateful for the opportunity to share our story. Looking ahead to next Tuesday, we will host an Out-of-Uniform Day to support Super Thomas. A minimum donation of $2 is requested, and all proceeds will go toward helping his family. Thank you in advance for your generosity. And yes—Super Thomas’ favorite color is purple! A Note from Palmer Music: Parents have one week to submit their instrument rental forms. Extra copies are available from Mrs. Tessin in the school office. Payments can be made by credit card or check and submitted either directly to Mrs. Tessin or emailed to [email protected]. On another note, we are still awaiting news regarding the Emmaus Grant from the Incarnate Word Foundation. If awarded, we hope to reimburse families for the cost of annual instrument rentals. We also aim to cover fees for our newly formed St. Louis Chess Club after school team. Fingers crossed for both! Finally, today’s Prayer Walk was inspired by Mrs. Carol Anne Lorenz’s thoughtful idea. Students walked between our two emergency reunification points, praying, offering petitions, and singing songs of peace under the guidance of Drs. Borgmeyer. This walk was a gesture of solidarity and hope for our brothers and sisters at a Catholic elementary school in Minneapolis. While we do not engage in politics, we believe in the power of prayer to bring peace and healing in the face of senseless violence. Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Your support, prayers, and partnership mean the world. Con gratitud, D. Gregorio Medellin—Sturgill | El director
