Dear Parents, Teachers, and Friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday—welcome to the weekend, and good riddance to a week chock full of snow and cold. A bittersweet goodbye to the activities and excitement. Catholic Schools Week 2026 is drawing to a close, and what a week it has been!
CSW will wrap up in true SSP fashion with the time-honored 8th Grade vs. Faculty (and Parent!) Volleyball Clash of the Titans, followed by the PTO Glo Dance on the IHM campus. While Snowmageddon added an extra layer of complexity to our planning, it also galvanized our community. People stepped up, pitched in, and made things work—one of the hallmarks of this great Catholic school and parish.
Thank you to the nearly 100 staff members, teachers, parents, students, ambassadors, and alumni who supported the SCCA School Fair, SSP Open House, and the many Catholic Schools Week activities. We are deeply grateful for all you do.
Shortly, I’ll be heading to sunny (hopefully warmer!) Scottsdale, Arizona, for a retreat—really, a full-blown workshop—connected to the University of Notre Dame’s Latino Enrollment Institute (LEI), which I’ve been part of since June 2025. I’ll return to SSP on Thursday, February 5. In the meantime, you will be in the very capable leadership hands of June Tessin (Office), Mary Ann Buschmann (Lead Educator), and Gloria Openlander (LC and veteran school administrator). I look forward to returning with valuable resources to support our enrollment efforts.
Until then—go Faculty (in the volleyball game!), dance like nobody’s watching at the Glo Party, and enjoy the many blessings the Good Lord continues to shower upon you and your families.
Paz de Dios,
